TITLE: 2nd Hand Lions Fishing Derby 06.25.2006

DESCRIPTION: Bluegill, male, (Lepomis macrochirus) [All bluegill I caught were male. This is because the male guards the nest once the female has laid the eggs. It's a very good idea to NOT harvest these bluegill at this time. Other males will not take over guarding the nest and the eggs will be lost. Note also, that the eggs from the nest guarded by such a nice specimen will be nice bluegill themselves. That would be a loss to loose those eggs.
