TITLE: 2nd Hand Lions Fishing Derby 06.25.2006

DESCRIPTION: Green sunfish, male, (Leopomis cyanellus) [This fish was damaged by the removal of the hook and did not survive, but was not wasted. I watched as it fluttered - a VERY LARGE Largemouth Bass - inhale the entire fish in one-gulp! The Bass was at least 4.5" across its eyes. I saw only the head. I did not see the dorsal fin - only to about an inch behind the gill plates - and I would estimate the distance from nose to behind gill plates was at least 5.5" - 6.0". The bass was large. I would estimate it over 28" long and weighing in at around 8-10 pounds! I immediately switched from crickets to bass-baits. Needless to say, you don't see pix of a large bass. ]
